Horseflex Fleawort (also known as psyllium seed) is a supportive feed for horses to aid digestion and gut health that is made from whole seeds. It is 100% natural.
Fleawort is commonly given as a supportive feed to horses when the horse eats (too much) sand. Eating sand is common in horses and it often happens unnoticed through feed or while grazing. Sand is disposed of through the intestines and faeces, but if a horse ingests more sand than normal, it carries several risks. Psyllium seeds help remove sand from the stomach and intestinal tract of horses. The psyllium seed creates a jelly-like sticky mass in the intestines to which the remaining sand sticks. In this way, the sand is still efficiently disposed of.
HorseFlex floorseed can be given either wet or dry. This has no effect on its effectiveness. If you want to feed wet, you can first make a porridge with water and mix it directly with the daily feed. It is then important not to leave the feed standing, but to offer it immediately. This is because the binding effect of psyllium seed for horses starts immediately.
